Not in the best condition, but quite viewable. A United Artists release in the US. Technicolor had released it's first two-strip feature in 1922 as well. One-time boxer Victor McLaglan would eventually cross the Atlantic and win the 1935 Oscar for acting in "The Informer" at RKO.

Fox Film was teetering at this point, so they put their two best romantic leads together one more time. Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell scored big hits as silent stars at Fox in the late 20's. Ginger Rogers was established as a singer and dancer, but wanted to hone her dramatic skills, which is why she made movies like this, and it paid off later. And Fox used little Shirley Temple any and everywhere they could because she drew box office. Didn't matter much; Darryl F. Zaunuck's Twentieth Century Pictures took over a year later.

Racy pre code movie;speakeasy bust,Joan in a bathtub,cute little dog,decadent Paris and the business with the bed. The serenade to the cleaner was a nice touch. Fun even 92 years later.

This movie is a gift, it transcends time. Really didn't know who any one was and it didn't matter they were all great. Ann is a lovely woman and her character and Dan show so much loyalty. Plus the ending was a surprise. ❤Thanks

I had to laugh at the black-face sketch at about 8:40. Back then people could have fun without being vicious. But today 'certain people' start complaining about everything, even though they won't say anything about the Scots or the Germans or the French when THEY are lampooned (parodied?).

This was a lovely romantic movie. I loved it. A little sad but sometimes true to life...

Well done movie-I will not say good Movie. Really didnt like John Paynes character-weak, completely pathetic man, puts everything in front of his wife. Does not seem like something John would play. Wont watch again, which is rare for an old movie.

I liked the movie 🍿-Betty Hutton-when she does the songs and dances-she can be boisterous with her energy-Mary Martin-she later appeared as Peter Pan in a live tv adaptation of the broadway musical 🎶-dick Powell-well-he can be his usual self in not only comedies and musicals but also dramas -Eddie bracken -always the poor schmuck in the movies-appeared with Betty Hutton in another comedy in 1944-that’s the cast, in a nutshell-this flick was good enough to watch! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤

It is clear to me that when Francis Dee smiled she lit uo Hollywood from top to bottom. A more radiant beauty never was.

Glad to find that this channel is 'On' again, after a month's absence. Looking forward to watching one of the few Dick Powell films I've never seen.
